Okay, so I have a question
I am Ace, but not Aro
I want to write an Ace/Aro character, but I want to get it right
Okay, so for me, I get really uncomfortable when people even talk about sex, so is it the same for Aro? Do you still enjoy romantic stories? Other people have described being Aro as not understanding romantic feelings, which I understand, I feel the same way as an Ace. Do you still like to read romantic novels, or watch love story movies?
Not trying to offend, just tryna understand so I can write a character correctly.

@DarkPhoenixShipper oops lol I screenshot (so I really don’t know the paste tense term for this, the first thing that came to mind was screenshat XD) this, and I’ll use it whenever I actually write the character. Thanks, this really did help. I totally understand about pshe lmao Again, thank you I just wanted to make sure I got it right XD Also, I probably won’t be writing the actual story here, I mostly write on paper But I could send you the part where I actually talk about the character if you want That is, if I actually ever get around to it XD

@TheInsaneSpacePanda I hope I can help! So obviously it isn’t the same for everyone, I’m just speaking from my experience. I kinda understand the theory/science behind romantic/sexual feelings, but whenever I see them irl I don’t really understand how or why people feel like that. Whenever people talk about romance, relationships and sex I get really uncomfortable and feel left out/like something is wrong with me (so I get super uncomfortable in pshe). I do still read shipping stories and watch romantic movies, some including smut, and do enjoy them, despite not understanding the characters’ emotions. If you do write an aro/ace character, I’d recommend writing them as supportive of those in romantic relationships, but clearly uncomfortable with pda. That way you can have character development of them gradually accepting themselves (which can be really hard for aro/ace people cos we feel broken/like there’s something wrong with us) and getting used to their friends’ relationships and feeling more comfortable around pda. You could also have them be slightly oblivious to those around them who are pining/crushing on others (which could be funny). If you want, once you’ve written each chapter, you could send it to me to proof read it. That way I can check that there behaviour/actions/speech makes sense, plus I can check spelling/grammar for you. If you do, yay!! Can’t wait to see what you write and I’m glad I can help!!
