@vgamekk2 I’m def gonna keep going with that fic. Yuki’s fully evolved into top-tier waifu material at this point for me, lol, and I’ve got plans to dive deeper into her dynamic with Hayato now that they’re actually dating. That said, I’m not jumping into it right as the second season two drops, ‘cause I’m locked in on my Umamusume fic rn. As long as real life doesn’t come for me, the wait won’t be that long, so don't worry.

Should I like, make him shake off the feeling, or make him reject her in the future? (Cuz im tryna go for a sad atmosphere, plus he needs to crack Fenomeno)
@J0hnRu1na Nah, you can’t just have a character catch feelings and lose ‘em all in one chapter. Like, there’s gotta be actual reasons behind why they fell in the first place, and the reason they split should hit even harder than whatever made them fall. If you cram all that into a single chapter, you’re just gonna overwhelm the reader and leave ‘em with a nasty aftertaste. Me, I’d rewrite it. I’ve literally redone entire chapters in my own fic ‘cause something felt off for Y/N or wasn’t adding anything to the story. If you wanna put out something solid, take your time with it. No need to rush and make it feel corny like some low-budget soap opera.

1. The one willing to abandon everything to succeed.
(Basically MC is desperate to make his parents proud)
Or
2. The one trying to run from his problems.
(MC doesn't like racing and only decided to race bc it helps him forget about his issues)
@ThatB0redPerson Ohhh aight, I see the vision now. Bc rn I'm planning to give him an ability to perfectly copy other racers, being able to go as fast as them if not faster. But a downside is that he loses his sense of self for a good few minutes after using it and starts acting like the racer he tried to copy.
@J0hnRu1na Option one is good but like he's gotta stay aware of his own messy situation while still pushing forward u know, that grind keeps the reader locked in, and if u can loop in one or two umamusume to his backstory that would hit different
Yuuurrrr whats crackalacking lowkey I want to write a different story with the same one as my story at the moment just not as a trainer cause my brain is not working at its full potential at the moment cause of my tests I've been studying forand for me it's difficult on what to write and do as the trainer of the Uma's (oh yeah mb Lowkey forgot I gotta write my story [but dw I'll continue but from a different story as an male uma with family issues])
@Deepyd1 It's cool that you're inspired to write another fic, fr. Just gotta make sure u're not ditching your studies, lol. My biggest tip is to lock in a solid plot first instead of just winging it chapter by chapter. Once u figure out the vibe of the story u want, everything else just flows and fleshes out. And yeah, always write what u love, but it's also low-key smart to think about whether ur readers are gonna be just as obsessed with it, u know

@Boredman1234 The main thing u gotta lock in on with character development is making sure ur readers actually get it and vibe with it. Like if I just hit u with "Y/N is a solid person" but then out of nowhere something goes down that I never even hinted at and suddenly he's the villain, that switch-up ain't gonna keep anyone locked in with ur main character. And if ur protagonist isn't hitting the feels for the readers, ur whole story starts crumbling too
