I totally support what everyone is doing for George Floyd. I want to be part of this movement too, but the breaking news at this hour just shocked the fuck out of me. Nonviolent Protesting and Vandalism/Looting Stores are two different things. I was alright with the fact that people are marching and staying out to protest in behalf of what happened to George Floyd and Black lives, but looting and breaking into stores is very unnecessary. First, breaking into stores and stealing will not change anything and it doesn’t even connect to the reason they're protesting. Second, it is a crime so it won't help their case. In fact, it will just cause more chaos and be looked down upon. They are giving police a reason for their actions. Third, what people have done today only disappoints people who talked a lot for change. Instead of stepping towards change, they pushed us back. We are now given curfew times, so if we get caught, we will be held accountable for breaking government codes. Malls and public places will stay closed. Quarantine will most likely become longer. It is a sad reality that we talked a lot to change for better, but irrational actions that people make caused everyone else to suffer their consequences.
This is what America has become.
