This is me venting a bit about YA stuff so feel free to ignore it. I AM TYPING THIS IN CAPS SO PEOPLE READ IT THIS IS NOT POINTED AT ANYONE’S WRITING OR BOOK TASTES THIS IS JUST MY PERSONAL FRUSTRATIONS WITH COMMON TROPES FOUND IN YA. Okay some tips for y’all who are writing a strong female character don’t just take a male character and give them a chest area IT WON’T WORK. All you are telling people is that strong girls are girls who act like guys and THAT ISN’T A GOOD MESSAGE! If you want to write a Tom Boy character go for it, that is amazing but realize what you message you are sending for example if one of your villain shows a lot of stereotypical “femine” traits while your hero is showing many “masculine” traits you might want to review what readers are going to get from the story. Changing topics HUMOR IS GOOD AND ENTERTAINING. Let me explain, there is a time and place for angst but there is also a time to laugh and enjoy life and a good story shows both. I love the laugh when I’m reading and I’m frustrated that I’m having a hard time finding good quality stories that show that include humor. (Please note I have found plenty on here but I love suggestions) okay rant over, thanks for reading this far.
