There are 14 cats that each hold special powers and have wings and 7 of them are good,7 of them are evil. It's separated like this because when the cats first came to the island and human scientist came over to test on them,some cats started to destroy the island with there powers to become the ruler,and the cats that didn't like that sent them away to another part of the island and there familys would usually go with them. Over a while they were fully in two different groups and one was a good group and one was a bad group. The cats started to notice that there powers were starting to disappear,but they wanted to keep them. In order to keep them they put them into two different crystals and each 11 years the crystals would take the powers away from the cats and they would go to the crystal.
