Yes there are worse ships but I think ppl complain about Luz x Hunter because they can't see past the sibling dynamic they have. Yes there are worse, actually bad/problematic, ships and they likely would complain abt those if they saw them. It's just Luz x Hunter is more common and will always bring more discourse especially since sometimes from what I have seen from some Luz x Hunter shippers they sometimes just ship them cause they don't like Luz being with a girl (obviously this is a very small part of the shippers but it could always leave a bad taste in ppls mouths when they see those shippers). Idk shipping communities are a bit wack. Ship what you want assuming it's not literally illegal and you're not erasing any queer identity. Sibling dynamic obviously doesn't mean you can't ship them especially since its not like Luz has ever called Hunter her brother (this isn't like Pokemon where Iris literally calls Ash like her little brother and ppl still ship them to death, realistically speaking any ships with Ash is slightly weird but that's beside the point) 

@The0ffical_N0RA I think it's more so how they act around eachother. Like their dynamic is more similar to a sibling dynamic rather than a romantic dynamic. Like I don't think the ship is bad but I also don't think i could understand why ppl ship them. The sibling thing is less literal and more just how they act and seemingly view each other. Like how Luz would probably view Eda as her second mum and King as like her little brother, lots of ppl think Luz sees Hunter as like her brother even if they aren't related in any form.
