I'm bored, anyone wanna talk? About literally anything, you can even vent to me if you want. I just need something to keep me from going crazy.

@The1mperfectDiary I've recently been reading the "Barsoom" series of novels by Edgar Rice Burroughs. He is more famous as the creator of Tarzan, but actually found his Sci-fi series of books more entertaining. In truth he pretty clearly has a formula he uses when he writes. In both the Tarzan and Barsoom series we have a main character who is borderline superhuman in their abilities (Tarzan/John Carter) stranded in a mysterious place (jungle/Mars) and taught how to survive by the natives (apes/Thraks). Eventually he rises up to become their leader (Lord of the Apes/Chieftain) and falls in love (Jane/Dejan Thoris).

@The1mperfectDiary other romance recs:

            Song of Achilles (Greek mythology, achilles x Patroclus, expect to cry, really profound and poetic writing style)

            What If It’s Us (super cute and fluffy, not as well written but very enjoyable, queer romcom, meet-cute, theater kid, is the first of a series about the same couple)

            The Sun is Also a Star (takes place over the course of a day, realistic, shows them falling in love, well written, super likable characters, swoony and devastating, one of my faves)

            Eleanor & Park (also swoony and devastating, strong romance, high schoolers, a bit harsher and more realistic/gritty themes rather than pure fluff)

            Five Feet Apart (ALSO swoony and devastating, two chronicle ill teens, great main and side characters, good plot, enemies to lovers, amazing romance, one of my faves)

            Everything, Everything (heartbreaking, has romance and also social themes, about a chronically ill girl as well, be prepared to cry in rage)

            She Gets the Girl (solid, very cute, queer romance, one of my favorite authors, about college students, enemies to lovers)
