Hello all you wonderful people. Thank you again for the time and energy you gave to the first Adept Pen Writers Awards. It was an experience for all of us and I'm glad we did it, but I'm now faced with a dilemma. I don't have it in me to run another award solo, and I don't have the time to turn this account into a legitimate community all by myself, BUT I also don't want to abandon it. I've thought about using it for shameless self promotion of my own work in progress, The Autum Prince, but typing the name right there is the only boost I'm going to give it. That's not why I started this account, and not where I want it to go. I have a handful of ideas and a kind of announcement, and I'd love your feedback. 1. I'm planning on writing a short book detailing what I've learned from hosting AP in the hope that it will help other contest organizers follow through. That's the announcement. No promises, but the idea seems fun. 2. Targeted awards with a large people's choice component. The idea would be open submissions for a single category, like ROMANCE, and the work would be judged on fixed criteria, BUT we would also open up a public survey and encourage entrants to send their fans to fill it out. There would be rules around this to prevent cheating, but it would take a lot of the burden off the host (probably me). 3. A R4R book club. Each person who submits their book will be assigned a book that they must complete and comment on in an established timeframe. I'm 100% ok with this starting out small, as in 4-6 people. 4. A collaborative workspace. Recruit a handful of people for open brainstorming to see if we can come up with a community-created story, and each contributing author would write a chapter. I'm open to other ideas. Failing this I'll probably leave this account on standby or pass it off to an interested party who has more time than I do to manage it. I'm really interested in hearing your thoughts :D

@ TheAdeptPen I loved the award (even though I didn't participate lol) and I think they're all good ideas to help writers and inspire readers :)

I love the idea of 1 and 2! I personally wouldn’t have the time to participate in 3 and 4, but they’re great ideas!
