Current obsession: Briggs and Sterling post Bad Blood.
And I’m not talking, like them falling back in love (which I love obviously) but I’m talking the FBI giving them HELL because of their relationship with the Director. Like give me both of them getting put on probation and on the verge of losing their jobs simply because they were close to him. Give me people looking at Veronica and only seeing her father and Veronica herself downward spiraling because when SHE looks at herself she only sees her father. Like I know Briggs becomes the director of the FBI in cannon but like COME ON, there’s no way that would’ve actually happened right away. Briggs was way too close to the Director. Not to mention the fact that he worked off the record WITH THE DIRECTOR to create the Naturals program??? Like you can’t tell me that the whole Naturals program itself didn’t go through fire right after the whole thing came out. Like give me the drama. Give me Briggs and Sterling having to fight for their lives being all “we were the team that TOOK HIM DOWN” and yet people still don’t trust them like BRO the POTENTIAL.

@applebotton_jeans OH MY GOSH THANK YOU. Literally YES to everything you said. And I didn't even THINK about the whole Lacey Locke thing. Like that is now TWO serial killers that Briggs has worked closely with. NO WAY was this man the first pick for the new Director. Also you're so right he's literally 30. ALSO is that even the job he would want??? Like I feel like Briggs thrives as a field agent. And yes he's ambitious, but Director of the FBI feels like more of a politial desk job role then what Briggs would actually want. It totaly feels like JLB just threw that line in there at the end to be like "oh look, everything is better now!" but like NO GIVE ME THE ANGST. Which is why I'm partially glad that she's giving us a new book that takes place after Bad Blood but I have a feeling that she's not actually gonna go into any of that despite the fact that there's SO MUCH POTENTIAL there. Also your whole thing about Briggs and Sterling getting put on different teams and the kids getting new supervisors literally just CHANGED MY LIFE. Like if I ever get that far in my book I would LOVE to go into a whole post Bad Blood pre Dangerous Impulses (assuming that the new book does not have any of this angst in it) that just goes into that whole thing. Like can you imagine post-everything Felicity who things should finally start going right for only for both of her parents (who now actually want to work together that's big for them) getting separated and then the kids get new agent supervisors who just want to shut down the program???? AHHHHHHH I can feel the inspo flowing (but also that was totally your idea so I wont steal it without your permission). AND LITERALLY. I have like a whole pre Bad Blood AU planned for my book that just goes more into Briggs, Sterling, Felicity and Judd coping with A) Nightshade is finally captured, and B) Briggs almost died??? Let's unpack that, give him some healing. I hate how glazed over that whole scene at the end of All In is.

@ TheBestWall Oh my god, YES! Briggs and his team must have already been going through hell after Locke (I mean they worked with a serial killer for YEARS) and then their new old addition was the daughter of one. You cannot tell me the whole FBI wasn't really suspicious of the whole Team for ages after the director. I mean they must have gone through evaluation after evaluation. And tbh the team would have probably been dissolved and the members integrated into other teams. Give me Briggs and Sterling really struggling to prove themselves with new people who won't accept them no matter what, the naturals dealing with a new team in charge who evaluate their right to exist all over again (but harsher than Sterling in TN 2), give me Briggs and Sterling fighting to get their kids back before their mental health gets dismantled completely but without losing their jobs.
(Also to Briggs becoming director right away: that man was around thirty. There is no way, and I love him but I'm talking NO WAY that he was the most qualified. The man worked with a serial killer, was probably in a relationship with her and went behind the FBIs back to consult CHILDREN on murder cases. I mean it's a closure for the story I guess, but I'm really sad that jlb doesn't really follow up with consequences to the stuff that happenes in her books (like whatever happens to Briggs full but LONG recovery after All In? And the next book he's just fine?? Eh))
