Hello Faust!! Thanks for adding Taraquin to your reading list. I hope it's dark enough for your taste. Lol I do like dark twists. It irritates some readers who expect happy endings. ;)

@TheBorealFaust You can still have your Hero character defeat the bad guy, but make it interesting. Take away everything he cares about in the process. So even though he beat the bad guy, he didn't really win in the end. Or you can make it to where he defeats the bad guy, but destroyed relationships with his friends and family during that process. There are tons of different things you can do.

@TheBorealFaust Thank you. Yeah, most fantasy stories are completely predictable. You can see the ending coming a mile away. As soon as the conflict is introduced, you already know that the hero will prevail. It's like Harry Potter. Although I liked the story, you knew from the beginning that Valdemort would eventually come back and Harry would end up prevailing over the bad guy. Real life doesn't always have a fairy tale ending.

@teavodelzell I never understood why people hate dark twists so much. If everything turns out okay, then where is the suspense? Taraquin is also giving me life right now. I love it.
