Four months. Four months from now, my already broken heart will shatter, and I’m unsure if I’ll be able to mend it. The man who abused me mentally, physically, and sexually for much of my childhood will have a newborn baby girl. Today, they found out it is a girl, and it hit me harder than a freight train. I fear for her, and I think back to decade of abuse and how she will have to endure almost two. How can a human survive that long?
I’m heartbroken.
This time of year always destroys me. I’m hurting. I always have been but today is just a little bit worse.
I’m not religious but if y’all could just send a prayer or your best thoughts for this little girl, that would be just the kindest thing.
She’s gonna need them.
