People complaining about Trump renaming the "Gulf of Mexico" to the "Gulf of America" just don’t get it.
Yes, it doesn’t actually mean much. Yes, it’s not the most significant thing to do with the power that the Presidency holds. However, that’s not the point.
One, the USA has more coastline along the Gulf anyway. And two, we are in North AMERICA. The name change doesn’t just apply to the States alone.
Also, it’s a massive troll. He knows it annoys people. Particularly on the left. That’s part of the reason why he does it.
Honestly, though, I don’t really give a sh*t what it’s called. Where I live in southeast Texas, people usually just refer to it as "the Gulf".
In the end, the whole argument about this is just so stupid! XD

For fic purposes, I’ve been doing a bit of research into social etiquette and things of that nature that were the norm during the Regency era (approx 1811-1820).
I was kinda surprised to learn that women were allowed to go to one of those old time-y ice cream parlours by themselves (a.k.a. without a chaperone).

@-CasAngelNovak- That’s what I try to do, too. All the emotion felt in the moment seems to do a good job at clouding rational thought (at least it has for me). Research and open discourse is a great thing. ❤️❤️ Although, in my opinion, I don’t feel like WP is the place to do it. That’s why if I ever do post something more serious and not fic related, I try to keeep it vague.
