I just realized I can post that one tpot 10 theory i have here yessir yessir something malicious is brewing /j
          
          anyways so like time to serious up ig, also spoilers for TPOT 10 if you havent seen it
          
          
          
          
          
          So you guys know how Pen's worst nightmare seems to be shallow and the least worst, as it's just his debt? I theorize that his worst nightmare is much, much worse (maybe not the worst but pretty depressing)
          
          I theorize that his worst nightmare is being separated from his friends for a long time.
          
          Reason 1: The debt is the same both in and out the dream, but the difference is the prison time. We don't see it outside of the dream, but in the dream, it's ridiculously high. He also seems relatively calm before the letter opens up fully and he thinks that the jail time is low.
          
          Reason 2: He's been separated from his friends before. Back in BFB, he ended up on a different team than his buddies because they went to do their own thing, leaving him behind, and the last one to be chosen. He didn't seem to see his friends often on screen, but he may have seen them more off screen, as he has properly hung out with them once on screen. Not to mention, he may have never seen Blocky again because of the split, we don't know what happened to the BFB contestants that stayed with Four, so Pen likely hasn't seen Blocky yet after around 4 years, so it's safe to assume he's very afraid of being separated from any of his other friends.
          
          Now, if this theory is true, this opens up a whole new possible development arc for Pen. If his friends decided to try and help him in his dream by clearing his debt instead of killing him to wake him up, it's very likely that he still wouldn't wake up since they didn't help with his true fear. And since they killed him to wake him up, his problem was never truly solved. If the theory is true, he's still afraid of separation and losing his friends. This is a major opportunity for Pen's character development.
