Merry late Christmas everyone, and happy holidays to those who don't celebrate it! Hope you've all had a wonderful couple of days with your friends/family/yourself.

I don't have anything new to offer you this year, but in case you're looking for something festive to read, the Christmas one-shot I made a few years ago now still holds up more or less well in my opinion. This and the entire Sere's Shake Shack trilogy in general was one of my favourite ever things to write, and I still find the Silent Night scene heartwarming even for my jaded adult self

Happy amourshipping day!
It's not quite October 17th for me anymore, but the chapter is done! I only missed the date in my timezone by an hour. It's still October 17th somewhere in the world, so I'm considering this to be a deadline met. See you for the next chapter in 2025 (joke, hopefully)!

The morning after the party is when reflections are made.
What one party sees as an accomplishment, the other may see as a mistake.
Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened.
One thing's for sure: the next time we see each other, things will be very different.

Chapter 17 of The Journey Continues, "Voyager," will be out on October 17th.

Hello friends. I have just spent literally all night making a database of every single pokémon fanfiction I've ever read, and have used what I've learned in university statistics classes to craft several metrics to rank them by.

I'd like to show you one metric in particular though: Votes%, or Votes by % of Reads. This, in my opinion, is the best way to measure the perceived quality of a book. Basically, if you have 1000 reads and 500 votes, you have a 50% vote%. This allows us to look past a book's absolute numbers, as popularity isn't the same as quality.

With all of that being said, here are the top 10 books in my library, ranked by Votes%:
1- It's So Crazy It Might Just Work by LilythePikachu (10.9%)
2- Met in Vegas by acedeea (8.9%)
          3- 18 by ShinyStufful (8.3%)
4- Our Symphonies by acedeea (7.5%)
          5- Metanoia by Espherer (7.1%)
          6- Skechers by _packrat_ (6.6%)
          7- Murder Squad Missions by Sylveon12 (6.1%)
          8- Each Other by Cobalt2412 (6%)
9- Tryst with Destiny: The End of the Beginning by gogolsarkar (5.9%)
          10- Tales of Amour by poke_fan-united (5.8%)

          Obviously the list isn't perfect, if it was up to me I'd put To The Moon up there too, but what this list is though is O B J E C T I V E M A T H E M A T I C S .

For the 0 people wondering about my own books, The Kalos Conspiracy has a vote% of 2.2%, and The Journey Continues has one of 2.5%. The average across every book in my library is pretty much exactly 2%, so I'm proud to say I am an above average writer objectively speaking :^]

In case you're curious, here's the google sheet with my entire database, available for your perusal: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Sh_6qmbqs9OjXdSlvN8vWPk38Kh2bJzOm-vLCNMuLNs/edit?usp=sharing
There's 181 books accounted for, ranging in quality (imo) from pretty terrible to absolutely amazing, so trust me when I say this little study of mine has a solid sample to take its conclusions from.

Anyway that's it, maybe I'll actually start writing an update again now.

hello all! yes ik I haven't updated a book in 2 months but that's just the life of a uni student at the end of a semester

Anyway, I've just spent 2 hours collecting and analyzing Pokémon fanfiction sequels on this website and I have things to share:
from the 12 pairs of books and sequels that I've collected, sequels tend to only reach 10% of the readers of their original books. This statistic is muddled though by the fact that sequels on average are only half as long in chapters as their originals. Taking the chapter count into consideration, we get a readership retention stat, and the average of that across all books is 31%.

Standout books are darlinyoureclazzic's Voyage Ahead, which retained 51% of the reads of its predecessor Playboy, and TheFreedomFighters' We are the Pokémon & We are Risen, which achieved 48% of the reads of its original book.

Standoutn't books are HAKDurbin's The Road to Our Destiny II: The Galar Adventures, garnering 9% of its original's reads, and Destiny Productions' Destiny Battles, amassing only 10% of Destiny Rebirth's insane million reads.

Please note there may be even more extreme outliers, I just didn't come across them.

Anyway that's been me putting statistics 101 to good use, I might do an analysis too of every book in my library because I have too much free time now.

You can find the google sheet with all the numbers behind these statistics (as well my attempt at the name 100 women challenge) here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1XMV-mU3np-zY2tb2gX1E_-ySw3PUW5O7kkEpReDYKGo/edit?usp=sharing

@TheHomeDepo I've read Haks second book (not completely) and in my opinion the second book was too unfocused on well.... amour (which is why I read it in the first place) and reading it felt like the book was getting dragged when could've just be left as it was. That is he could be ended the Story in the first part because the ending didn't leave any thing else to be desired. It's like Boruto series which imo was completely unnecessary when Naruto had such a fulfilling and beautiful ending.
