Guyssssss I just feel like yapping rn so imma do that
Basically I woke up at like 6 AM today, got ready for my Speech & Debate competition, and headed out at around 7 because I had to be there by 7:30. I’m doing BOTH LD and Public Address today, so I’ve basically just been going back and forth between the two all morning. And because everything is in different buildings at this school, I’ve literally been walking across the entire place every time I have to go somewhere. I’ll finish one round and then immediately have to check where I’m supposed to be next and speed-walk over there.
For LD, I passed octos and made it into quarters!! My round was actually pretty interesting because there were a couple points where I really had to think about how I wanted to respond instead of just immediately going into my next argument. I was flowing the whole time and trying to keep track of what my opponent was saying while also making sure I didn’t forget anything I wanted to bring up. There were definitely some parts where I was like okay wait let me actually think about this for a second, but overall I’m really glad with how the round went. I checked the postings afterward and saw that I passed, so my quarterfinal is gonna be after lunch.
