@Official_toothless I think none of the characters are overrated, but their glorified versions that can be seen when someone talks about them are overrated.
If you watch videos on character analyses of the two, you'll find that it's the people who've made them sound overrated, but the characters themselves are not overrated.
If you still think Astrid is overrated, no problem! No judgement from my end here (as a person who likes pineapple on pizza, I get enough of it that I don't need to dish out judgement) but I think Astrid is more complex than anyone really sees (don't get me wrong; I didn't really see it either until I did a character analysis on her for a school project, I'm just pointing out a general observation from here on out, though). For starters, in HTTYD 1, she's seen as tough and strong, if violent. Even a little prideful. But Hiccup comes along, and she realises she doesn't need to be violent to be strong. I could explain the whole thing here, but I doubt I'd do it justice, so I suggest you look up articles and blogs that can actually cover an in-depth analysis of HTTYD characters
