I just wanted to ask because of the image for your banner at the top, do you have autism and/or is that image supposed to be a joke about autism? And if it’s a joke is it supposed to be negatively talking about autism (and also like, is it like one of those insults and jokes and stuff that are ableist and come from ableist stereotypes about autism)? I’m just asking because I am actually autistic. And because of my autism (since I can’t always read social cues and stuff, and I’m not always sure what things are supposed to be implying) I’m not sure if it’s one of those jokes or if it’s SUPPOSED to be like one of those jokes or something like that. And also I find those kind of jokes and things very offensive because they imply that autism is negative and make a joke of it and they are based off of ableist stereotypes about autism and they reinforce and encourage stereotypes about autism and ableism. But autism isn’t a negative thing, it’s just that autism means that the things that we are good at and the way our brains work is different than how a neurotypical brain works and the things that a neurotypical brain is good at. And autistic brains aren’t good at the things that neurotypical brains are good at. And since this world was built by and for neurotypical people, it is built to work for nuerotypical brains, not autistic brains. So since autistic brains work differently than nuerotypical brains and this world was made for nuerotypical brains, it’s hard for autistic people to live and function in this world, because it was not built to work for them. Einstein had autism and dyslexia and couldn’t talk ‘till he was 4 and he changed our understanding of the universe as we know it. And TONS of other famous and successful people are also neurodivergent. And those kinds of jokes are insulting because they imply that being autistic is a bad thing and that autistic people are dumb and/or bad and/or all the other stereotypes about the autism and it being negative.
