Hi :) I have a question. So I’m participating in both the ONC contest and the Wattys, and as of now I have my ONC completed, so it’s already posted on my Wattpad page. To prepare it for the Wattys, I’m posting another version of the story called “Wattpad Prep” so that way the word count for the ONC contest version doesn’t get messed up. That’s fine, right? I’m also posting the Wattys Prep version to go by Wattpad’s word count. I just want to make sure that it’s fine to do it that way. I appreciate your help thank you!☺️

@scifi_lover4 - if you've submitted the main version to the ONC then that's fine. And I'm sure that if it aligns with the Wattys guidelines you could submit it there too. They're used to seeing ONC entries being entered in the Wattys a few months later, and it's something I very much like seeing as it shows the community is writing stuff and enjoying being involved in the various challenges and contests that are on the platform.
Hi Gavin, I had a question about series eligibility. Book 1 is the original starting point of my series, but I also have a prequel set in the same world. It follows a completely different romance and has its own full story, so it can be read on its own. It does connect to later books and leads into book 2, but you don’t need book 1 to understand it. I know sequels like book 2 and 3 aren’t eligible, so I wouldn’t submit those. I just want to know if both book 1 and the prequel would be okay to submit, or if I would have to choose only one.
I’ll be honest, I’ve read the rules, but I’m still a bit skeptical about submitting, even though I really want to. Last year when I submitted, my book got taken down because the characters were 17 and there was mature content, which was my mistake, but it still made me really careful this time. Now I’ve fixed everything and made sure all my books follow the guidelines, but it still feels like I’m walking on glass, like I have to keep editing both books just in case. Even when everything is right, it can feel like something is wrong. So I just want to be sure before I submit. Would it be correct to submit both, or should I only submit one?

@TheOrangutan Thank you, I really appreciate it, your advice helps a lot. I’ll be submitting both. I think I’m just a bit more cautious now because I really care about my work and the guidelines. That experience honestly made me step away from Wattpad for a while, but people kept encouraging me to come back, fix what needed fixing, and try again. In the end, it turned into a learning experience, and it pushed me to improve the story and even expand it more than I originally planned. So it was worth it, I just don’t want to run into that again. But this definitely reassured me, thank you again!
@nikkixo - if the prequel aligns with the guidelines and can read on its own then it sounds like it's a viable entry. You are allowed to enter more than one story, but you can only win with one from what I remember. I understand your caution, but I'd suggest getting 'em both in and see what happens. Hey , There is a group of people in one of the fan fiction tag who harasses, abuses and start fake mass reporting authors just because the authors don't write their favorite character according to them . They have forced many writers to unpublish their books and leave wattpad. They have many accounts and has mass reported many books just because those books were not written according to them and the moment we tell them that we will report their accounts they oh so arrogantly say that they have many more accounts and will make more accounts as it only takes a few minutes to make new account . They very egoistically give a particular period of time to make changes in the book according to them or they will start fake mass reporting and not only delete the book but also the account . Please stop this hooliganism on wattpad. Please make wattpad a safe place for writing and reading without such hooligans .
@SeherKhan766 - Hi, If you're having problems with this user then you need to report them to Wattpad's Trust and Safety team please. There's more details on the Help pages on how to report other users, and all reports are only able to be seen by you and the T&S team so the person will not know you have reported them. I would note though that just because someone like this is reporting accounts, or even mass reporting accounts, it does not mean that the T&S team will just remove the account or accounts that are being reported, they will only remove a story or profile if they agree with the report. We rely on our community to report in people like this and to help us stop this sort of behaviour. Thank you.
It has come to my attention that one of your ambassadors/ anonymous readers on Wattpad is falsely reporting people on Wattpad without clear evidence of what they did wrong, please acknowledge.
When I tried to appeal a request, it asked for my story and story ID number, I don’t even write stories, let alone get stories deleted, it was my previous account that just got deleted, and I did nothing to violate the policies

Hello, I am speaking on behalf of the readers and writers they have just gotten their accounts deleted by your Wattpad’s AI, people are getting shadowbanned for no fair reason, let alone the evidence of that reason, we’re getting falsely reported for SPAM even when we haven’t done anything of the sort, and then we get suspended for 2 days for inappropriate behavior without evidence of that, and then I got my previous account deleted after that two day suspension, your Wattpad’s AI is causing problems for readers and writers alike we have not been doing anything wrong, if anything Wattpad was better off without AI doing the work for you guys, I used to feel safe on Wattpad but now I don’t even know what to think anymore, and it’s breaking my heart, leaving a dark empty feeling in my soul. Please look into solving this problem, the last thing I want you guys to do is to delete the freedom of speech.
I recently discovered Wattpad's Bootcamp Membership, and even the Ambassadors' programs requires a person to have a discord account, which is honestly a bit inconvenient. I do understand Wattpad's need of a easy connecting platform and Discord offers just that, but I feel this just strikes down lots of features for people ( like me honestly) who don't want to have a Discord account and have issues opening it.
@Manimaa - Hi, while I appreciate your reticence to utilise Discord as a means of communication, every choice we make will have some sort of ramification. The Ambassadors have used Discord for many years to facilitate the setup of the group, and other community groups like the Bootcamp do the same.
