@Etoile_Filante7 - Wattys isn't being done in French in 2026. The available languages for this year are listed on @thewattys profile.

Do judges read the whole story , each chaptet ?and who will be the judges?

TheOrangutan

@sinkps00007 - judging is a staged approach, and judges are content experts who work for Wattpad. For Spanish, Bahasa Indonesia, Portuguese, and Filipino, we work with a team of associates from around the world who are content specialists trained in evaluating stories. This information is contained in the 'story' on @TheWattys profile

Hi Gavin,

          I hope you're having a great week!

I am a new writer on the platform, and I’m currently working on my novel, 'Siyah İzdüşüm'. As I am in the early stages of sharing my story, I want to make sure I am following the best practices for community guidelines and discovery.

Could you please direct me to any official guides or resources regarding Wattpad's discovery mechanisms or effective tagging strategies for new stories? I’d love to learn how to help my story reach the right audience organically and ensure it complies with the platform's standards.

Thank you so much for your time and guidance!

          Best regards,

nazlyraa

thank you so much for sharing these resources! I really appreciate your time and help. I'll definitely check them out to improve my work.

@nazlyraa - Hi, there's a whole load of information on the Help pages - https://support.wattpad.com/hc/en-us - that would be useful to you, and we also have Writer Resources here too - https://creators.wattpad.com/creators-101/

Hi! I have been writing for a long time and have experience writing in different genres, but I am new to publishing on Wattpad and haven't posted any stories before. Would I still be eligible to participate in the Wattys, or are there any requirements regarding previously published stories on Wattpad?

inknbow

So kind of you

Hey, hi , I have another doubt about locking the part of a story, means can you explain or direct me how to lock any part of some stories ?

frictionist_anu

@frictionist_anu O ok thank you for the explanation.....This is the explanation I wanted

TheOrangutan

@frictionist_anu - Hi, as a regular user you don't have the ability to lock or private any parts of your stories. Restricting access to some chapters usually only happens if a story is part of our Paid catalogue, so in that instance you'd need Premium membership to read locked chapter. Is that what you meant?

Hi Gavin,

Thanks again for your help earlier. I had a question about community safety. I've come across some profiles hosting contests that claim to be associated with the Wattpad team, but they don't appear to have any official Wattpad or Ambassador badges.

Is there a standard way to verify whether a contest or initiative is officially affiliated with Wattpad? I'd love to know how to distinguish legitimate Wattpad programs from unofficial ones.

          Thank you!

@TheOrangutan Super helpful, thank you!

TheOrangutan

@abbyabbyli - Hi, there's some information on the various profile badges on the Help Pages here - https://support.wattpad.com/hc/en-us/articles/206167360-Profile-badges - but in short, Ambassadors will have the heart badge, Ambassador run profiles - like the @Ambassadors profile - will have the heart badge and verified tick, Wattpad run profiles will have the verified tick - like @TheWattys profile - and staff will have the orange W like you see on my profile.

Outside that, any other profiles are not 'official', or are sometimes old or disused staff/wattpad accounts. So if you see a contest/challenge on a profile that has the 'tick' then it's a Wattpad or Ambassador run one.

            Hope that helps a little.

            Cheers, Gavin

Hi, Gavin! I was an ambassador around last year. I would like to ask about my certificate if I can still revive it? Is there any way I can communicate with you privately about this matter? Thank you.

TheOrangutan

@pizzaaaagood - ok, I've deleted your reply to preserve your email anonymity, but I'll send you an email shortly. Cheers, Gav

Hi Gavin! I’m a new writer and I’m very interested in the Ambassador program. I unfortunately missed the recent submission window, but I’d love to be prepared for the next one. As someone with so much experience, do you have any general advice on what makes a strong Ambassador applicant or what you look for in candidates? I’ve read the basics, but I’d really appreciate any guidance on how to improve my chances. Thank you so much for your time and help!

abbyabbyli

@TheOrangutan Thank you! That’s a huge relief—I was honestly unsure about whether I should hold off on edits, so it really helps to have that clarified.

@abbyabbyli - Hi, no worries, answering questions is what I'm here for.

Re reading lists, you can still edit the story while you're waiting, it's not a contest like the Wattys, so if you happen to see a mistake in your story, you're allowed to correct it.

            Cheers, Gav

@TheOrangutan Hi Gavin,

Thank you so much for the advice! It was incredibly reassuring and honestly made me feel much better about the process. I really appreciate you taking the time to answer my question.

I also realized after sending my message that I was probably asking something you've been asked many times before, so thank you for being so kind and patient with your response!

I do have one quick follow-up question: when submitting a book for an Ambassador reading list, does the submission lock the story from further edits while it is under review, similar to how it works for the Wattys? I just want to make sure I understand the process correctly.

Thank you again for your time and guidance!
