Richie and Eddie learn how to accept themselves, standing up to Eddie's mom together. Richie's dad is found to be living in Wyoming and doesn't plan on returning.
Right before they graduate high school, they hang out in Richie's attic, recording their last video together.
Before Richie could end the video, they kiss.
