Everyone should be able to express themselves in a way that's true to themselves. They should never worry about if they are good at what they do, if they like what they do, they should do it.
Hey all you aspiring story writers and story readers. I'm Danielle, and I've loved making stories for as long as I can remember. The last thing I wanna do is brag, but when I was a little girl and we were doing those making stories thing at school, my teacher was so awestruck at my story. Honestly, I was surprised by how much she liked it. It brought the attention of everyone in my class, and I was happy, but never thought about taking writing into consideration.
Also, I won the Dare Contest the year before, in a Dare essay writing contest. But of course, having people commenting positively about my writing didn't persuade me to write, even though I love reading good stories and there are many good ones on Watt-pad.
I guess what made me want to write and what persuaded me to use my okay abilities is really 2 things. The first thing, I love the book series Lucy B. Parker by Robin Palmer. My aunt being the awesome one that she is, got me all the books, and I fell in love. I fell in love with Robin's understandable writing style, ( I don't know many complex words, even as an author wannabe), I fell in love with the life of Lucy, and her and her superstar Step Sister, and a lot of likable characters. But most of all, I liked how relatable Robin could make her characters be. I felt for Lucy, all the normal teen stuff every girl experiences, except her life blows up more in her face than a normal teen because of her Step Sister coming into her life. Because of how relatable her books were, I appreciated that enough to following her footsteps.
The 2nd thing, not too long ago, later last year, (2014), I met this girl in my gym class. She told me the greatest stories a story could ever be. Her works could easily have gotten a nomination for the Newberry Medal.
Thanx.
