"The closer you look, the less you see..."
-J. Daniel Atlas, Now You See Me, 2012
Congratulations leveret, you've reached the collaboration account of @-GrandLarceny- and @UnequivocalVendetta. Welcome, audience. We are The Virtuosos. We create a beauty of our own. We are best as what we do, no question, no doubt.
Le Magicien
@UnequicovalVendetta, at your service. Or am I actually there? Close your eyes, and watch the images I project across your mind. You see me flick my gloved wrist, and cards fly out and twirl - they turn into doves, white as lustrous pearls and single tears roll from their beaks, evolving into diamonds that shatter on the marble floor, ruby hearts rolling across the tiles, green clubs that turn into clovers in a field, and the black spades elongating into arrows. A tip of my hat, a wave of my white glove, and the illusion is over. Do really you see me now? Or have you looked too closely?
The Detective
@-GrandLarceny-. How may I help you? I can solve your crime. I can solve your puzzles. I can solve you. Oh, yes, I see you, leveret, and you see me, a swirl of a navy trench coat and the doff of a black fedora, dark hair flying and dark eyes glinting. You can see my black-gloved hands as they grip the magnifying glass, touch the brim of my fedora with classic elegance. I am an enigma, a riddle, a mystery myself, my mind a marvel and every word that rolls off my tongue is to be taken with a pinch of salt. I am simultaneously the riddler, and yet the solver of riddles. I see you, in the shadowy corner, dirt caking your sinning skin and lies lurking in your malevolent eyes. You cannot hide from me. Do not take me for a heroine, for I may be on the side of the angels, but do not think for one second that I am one of them.
Do you think that we cannot see you? How wrong you are.
Come close. Closer. Because the more you think you see, the easier it will be to fool you.
