Hey guys/girls! It's Neil, and I'm here with an excerpt from an upcoming story all three of us are working on to get to you guys. I hope you enjoy what we have so far!
"Come on, Ash," I yelled out the window of the idling car, "We're going to be late, again." By the time Asher finally got in the car, we were already late.
"Great, now we're gonna be late, and I can't get any food on the way there," I heard Parker complain from behind me, causing me to let out a small laugh.
"You'll live, Parker. We're only ten minutes away, and there'll be tons of food there." My smile only grew when I heard her grumble something that sounded like "There better be."
"So, Nova, did you finish that song you were working on?" Asher asked from the seat beside me, staring blankly out the window.
"No, I'm about -" my words were cut short when a sudden impact shook the whole car. Everything seemed to slow as the windshield shattered, a large figure coming through with it. Before I could even comprehend what was happening, a scream escaped my lips, and my hands reflexively covered my face. A faint gasp escaped my lips as I felt the glass embed into my skin and something crush my leg. Everything was replaced with a loud ringing as my vision began to darken around the edges.
I looked around the car, trying to comprehend everything that happened. Parker was staring at me with wide eyes, her lips moving, but I heard nothing. I looked over to see Asher's pale face staring directly at me. His lips moved slightly, trying to form words, but I still only heard the ringing. "Asher," I felt my throat vibrate as it formed his name, and the last thing I saw before spiraling into a silent darkness was Parker's lips moving in a panicked way as she came closer to me.
