'Steady feet don't fail me now,
Between the mild gushing river
And these fine stepping stones
One, two, three they go..'
Would she get there?
No one knows.
Her heartbeat quickens,
As she sees down below,
Her feet in the cool
Crystal water,
But something glistens,
Far beyond her sight,
Which gives her the right,
To be captured by the eye.
'I heard its call,
So familiar yet vague,
So melodious yet fragile,
But when I turn my head back,
The voice is nowhere
Nowhere at all.'
She flew and ran
Aimlessly,
Into the dark forest lair.
Panting hard and her breathing rough,
On her pale tainted lips.
Searching for the light,
The light that hovers in front of her eyes.
The woods soon ends in the night,
Mists and heavy clouds then arrives.
With their array of merriment combine,
Such a sight for a wonderful night.
Her body can no longer contain,
The mass of overdosing game,
Just as she intends to walk away,
A voice came, brushing her face.
"Honey,
Am I too late?"
Her cheeks flush intermittently
"No, you're right on time,
But a little too late,
For the kiss that you crave,"
He holds her chin high,
And slowly dives deep for a kiss,
Like violets and peonies,
Like the stars and the moon,
Like Romeo and Juliet,
And those endless love stories...
Forever
Remains.
