Perhaps the loveliest line in all of the Narnia books: "I have come home at last! This is my real country! I belong here. This is the land I have been looking for all my life, though I never knew it till now." - The Last Battle
How wonderful that sense of relief must've been, when everyone finally found themselves in Aslan's Country, where they knew with their entire being that they were meant to be there. Though this line is not from one of the Pevensies, it really gives an idea of the home they found in Narnia and the sorrow they must've experienced when leaving it. This world was their whole life, and they had to leave it multiple times; imagine spending years in a place, learning to love it perfectly and completely, and then suddenly having to leave all the people and memories behind. It holds such raw emotion, and its incredibly relatable; everyone spends their life searching for the place they're meant to be.
Which is why you should go and read a Deeper and Darker Magic! Chapter 8 will be out shortly.
