            Rael didn’t transfer his mein to Ru, but the opposite. He transferred Ru’s mein to him, not realizing it’d backfire on both of them (him nearly dying and Ru becoming… evil, sorta). Rael collapsed because he still had mein. Ru does not have mein anymore after Rael took it away. Hope this clarifies this, I plan on going more in depth in later arcs!
            
            So, when Ru found the book (i wrote this like two years ago so I’m very sorry if I get something wrong) and read the “truth” about mein, he basically changed his fate… for the worse, you could argue. He found out about the “god of death” and since it’s forbidden knowledge, he’s quickly found out. I’d go more into why he specifically was targeted and affected by it but uh… spoilers. Lots and lots of spoilers. The girl was a part of pandemonium, and she was sent to take care of him and his family. 
            
            Go ahead and ask more questions! I didn’t answer these ones that well because they won’t be answered until later hehe, but if you have any more, I’d love to reply! You don’t need to re-read the story, that takes a lot of time, I’m just happy you liked it enough the first time. I’m glad you enjoy chatting with me, I like this too! Bonding with readers is fun. @The_Novice_  I just finished reading the new chapter! It was amazing as always and I can’t wait for the next part!! I apologize for taking a while to respond, thank you for spending time from your life to answer my question, haha. 
            
            Your explanation really clears things up, I kinda got hang of Mein now. Though it does raise some questions for me (apologies for another barrage of questions TvT): If I understand correctly, Rael transferred his Mein to Ru through the ring, so would that mean Rael doesn’t have Mein anymore? Or is it the other way around? If the first instance is correct, then why did Rael collapse in front of the priest? Does Ru still have Mein after the ring Rael gave him? What exactly happened when Ru found the book of the Death god and the whole deal with the girl? 
            
            I have so many more questions that I can’t even form right now. But they mostly pertain to Mein and how it affects Rael, Ru, and even Ophelia. I feel like I could understand them if I reread the book again, but I just want to make sure. Plus, it’s so cool to be able to chat with the author of such a wonderful book! I’m actually currently writing the next chapter lol, I’m trying to finish before the week is over haha! I hope my story hasn’t given you too much heartache! I’m so glad you’ve enjoyed the recent chapters too! And I’d love to explain any confusion you have! 
            
            Mein in simple terms, can be transferred from one who carries it to another. Think of it literally like having one bomb and giving your bomb to the next person. Though mein can be cured, it’s only limited for citizens of Urel so as to limit too many with mein. Technically, having children with a common is frowned upon, hence the discrimination that both past Rael and also Ophelia faces/faced. So, the possibility of finding someone else with mein is very small as some die at an early age or are aborted before being born. I have yet to go deeper into this but this is not spoilers but more of a in depth explanation of everything. 
            
            Rael gave Ru the ring that transferred his ‘ticking time bomb’ to him, not realizing that this basically screwed him over. His kindness was his downfall, really. So uh, yeah, if you have any more questions, I’d love to answer them all! I’m so glad you enjoy this story enough to ask questions! Thank you!
