Life is hard being the last darkener. Darkeners are a race  that live in black holes. Imagine living in a black hole, it gets lonely. Note, black holes are kinda portals to alternate universes. If you can survive one that is. Black holes are basically giant worms eating anything in it's path. Sometimes I find broken flying saucers. I am the last of my kind, well, at least I think I am. Stupid Irkens.
