Dear travelers,
There has been a rather troublesome manuscript occupying my desk lately.
It began, as these things often do, with something small: a boy born at the very bottom of an empire, a few forgotten books, and a question he was perhaps too young to ask.
Somehow, it has since acquired an eight-hundred-year-old dynasty, Five Great Houses, cultivation, court politics, war, rebellion, and enough troublesome young people to make this old keeper reconsider several of his life choices.
I suppose that means it is time I gave it a place upon the shelves.
The Fire Dragon Dynasty is my newest project—a cultivation and political fantasy following Li Renji, a slave-born boy growing up beneath the dying Tenryū Dynasty, long before anyone has reason to believe his name will matter.
This will not be a tale that hurries.
Renji begins as a child with a very small world. He will learn, question, make friends, gather people others have misunderstood, and slowly discover just how much larger—and more broken—that world truly is.
There will be cultivation and battles, certainly. But at its heart, this is a story about people, loyalty, ambition, friendship, family, and the long road between seeing that a kingdom is broken and becoming someone capable of building another in its place.
I have been quietly building this world for some time now, and I confess I have grown rather fond of it.
So, travelers, another shelf is being prepared.
The first volumes may still smell of ink, and there is a great deal of road ahead, but perhaps some of you would like to walk it with me.
