When I went to Washington D.C. with my family as a 3rd grader and wrote a play about the experience, my teacher allowed me to direct my classmates in an impromptu production of "Meeting Mr. Reagan." (Oye.) From then on, I was hooked on writing. A few poems, articles, a column, and a gazillion years later, I use my background in psychology and exploration of psychic phenomena to inspire and inform my writing. A happy historian of Victorian America and Spiritualism, member of the Society for Psychical Research, fan of all things ghost-hunterly, and explorer of the development of psychic ability, I recently followed in the footsteps of my own heroine. I left my own Midwestern roots and heeded the many signs pointing to the Pacific Northwest, where I live with my husband and hairy family.
