Update.
That's all some of you ask for.Do you ever stop and think that writing even a single chapter takes hours? I'm a student. I work. I have studies, responsibilities, deadlines, and a life outside Wattpad.Sometimes it genuinely feels like I'm writing for invisible people. People who can type "Update" in two seconds but can't spare a few words to tell me what they liked about the chapter."Update." "Update when?" "Next chapter?"
Update what?
Do you know how exhausting it is to keep writing under constant pressure? Finish one chapter, post it, immediately start the next one, and repeat the cycle over and over again.I'm not a machine.I sleep at 10 p.m. and wake up at 5 a.m. every single day. I have a routine, responsibilities, and goals beyond this app.
And honestly... the constant pressure has burned me out.
The only book that truly made me happy on this platform was Husn. After that, writing slowly became more stressful than enjoyable.
Neither BOL nor Aks-e-Mohabbat gets the kind of discussions I hoped for. The only notifications I mostly receive are reminders to update. Every single one adds a little more pressure, and after a point, it stops feeling like motivation.
Please understand that authors have lives too. We get tired. We get stuck. We deserve to enjoy writing instead of feeling guilty every time we open the app.
And yes, let me be honest about something.
I'm 99% sure that once I finish my three books, I'll quietly leave Wattpad.
Not because I hate writing.
But because I don't want to lose my love for it.
Writing has always been my safe place. I don't want it to become something I fear because of deadlines and pressure.
If you've ever left a genuine comment, voted, or simply made me feel that my words reached someone..thank you. You have no idea how much that means.
And if all you were going to type was "Update," maybe take a second to tell the author what you actually felt while reading.
