You may ask why Somalia, a land of people of the same ethnic group and religion can turn against each other as it is. We have to dissect this problem further because something here can’t be right. They say the clans are to blame for sparking the bloodshed that Somalia has seen. The entrance of Ethiopia in this war can open old wounds. The Ethiopians were labeled as Christians in the 2006 incursion. This only united the Somalis. Unless Kenya has a magic trick up its sleeves then it might be a costly experience to them. The Americans also went there in the name of distributing food aid and lets not talk about what happened. Israel tried the same thing with Hezbolla in Lebanon and Hamas in Gaza and really nothing has changed. I think some form of dialogue by bringing all parties to the table and working out an all inclusive governing system. Did anyone bother to ask for help from the administration in Somaliland which is part of Somalia on how they have maintained relative peace for years?

There is no shortage of war mongers on this earth some of them even calling themselves men of God. A very good example is John Hagee. They should just lift up their shirts and show us the mark of the beast. How can someone advocate for war based on religious misunderstanding. Iran is not Iraq neither is it Afghanistan, it is the main ingredient for world war 3 just like North Korea. Iran has cause for concern when they see americans flaunting their nuclear submarines and carriers in the gulf. Not forgetting about five nuclear sites in Israel. They will eventually develop the A-bomb but may never test it.

The recent grenade attacks blamed on the al-shabaab have more than one story to it. We have seen how other terrorist proxies carry out their attacks from al-qaeda to hamas to hezbolla. If its not an IED (improvised electronic device), then it’s a suicide attack. Unless the al shabaab have invented a new way to it then we might just be seeing a smokescreen planted by the government to legitimize a useless war. useless in the sense that no gains have been made on capturing ground for about two months. Kenyans not safer now than we were before the war infact we are facing more attacks than ever.

If you dissect this story of al shabaab further, you will notice that something is amiss. Firstly the purported members of the al shabaab arrested are not Somalis neither do they look like they have attended any madrasa. They are in fact Kenyans who have no reason of harming their fellow countrymen. Secondly, the tactics being used are alien to true terrorist organizations. We all know that mujahids are not cowards and they seek matyredom. Which terrorist throws a grenade then runs away? A grenade cant really make the damage that terrorists seek. If you can smuggle a grenade then it cant be hard to smuggle in stronger explosives like the ones that rock Mogadishu.
