I’m looking for a story and hoping someone recognizes it.
The FMC is a traveling photographer. While visiting a friend in Korea who works with K-pop groups, she photographs a man dancing in an alley—later revealed to be Hyunjin. Her friend invites her to dinner with her K-pop circle, which ends up being Stray Kids, and she’s surprised to see Hyunjin there. They immediately click. Later at a café they get spotted by fans and have to run.
A major theme is them navigating a language barrier: Hyunjin learning English, her learning Korean. Despite her fear of commitment—due to trauma from a past relationship and her constant travel—she agrees to a long-distance relationship. She travels nonstop for photography gigs, and they stay close through calls and FaceTime. There’s a memorable scene where she calls him from a rooftop in another country.
There’s also a subplot with her brother (possibly a gay lawyer) and their strained relationship, tied to family expectations. At one point she visits him, and they go to a beach town together, walking the boardwalk and visiting an arcade.
Hyunjin eventually introduces her to his mom, which is a big deal. She’s also working on becoming more financially secure, and there’s a moment where she laughs at people assuming she’s broke despite earning well.
When she visits Korea, Hyunjin’s friends come over for takeout. Someone suggests a “contract relationship” to help her manage her commitment issues, which she finds too clinical. There’s also a hint that her friend has an unconventional, contract-based relationship with Chan.
During one visit, there’s a smut scene where Hyunjin apologizes afterward for not asking about birth control/STDs and gently cleans her up.
Overall, it’s about a woman constantly on the move, avoiding commitment after a past breakup, slowly learning to let herself connect again.
