It was a simple word. Just one word, but it held so much meaning. I felt a little envious of him. Of all three of them. How could these people thrown out like nothing find a place they could call home with people they could call family. Whereas I was forced to be put in a box, literally at times. Was it really so foolish of me to think that despite our differences in thinking, my family and neighbors would open their arms to me? To love me as they always said they did? Without fail?
No. That was too harsh. They weren’t wanted, just like me. They were found and loved by strangers. Anchor jumps out of the wagon suddenly. He howls in joy as he rolls around in the sand, kicking it up with his feet. They were found and cared for by this idiot. An idiot whose grin does nothing to hide his mischief. An idiot who helped me despite my protests. An idiot.
