I am not dead!!!
(Is anyone still here? Lol. It's ok if not, it's been a while)
So long a while, in fact, that my notification page is empty. I've never seen it like that!
Now, you might be curious; Where have I been and what have I been doing? Well, I was attending a very demanding program that sucked all of the life out of me. I spent all year working with my friend to make our joint project.
Typically, students are supposed to work alone, but our professors knew us and suggested and supported us working together on a joint capstone film.
Yes, film! It ended up being short-film in length (cries) and you can find us on YouTube! The film's title is Diggin' for Donuts. I hope you like it!
I worked on the creature (Timmy :) and my friend was responsible for the live action shooting and visual effects. I am forever grateful for her.
Enough yapping about other things, you probably want to know if I'll be back writing stories, don't you?
Well yes I will be and it CANNOT BE SOONER. I'm BORED. Literally all I do is think about fanfics (for the wrong fandom but we don't have to talk about it) but I'm getting back into drawing WOF and I am SO HYPED. I wanna get back into Ventus so bad...
Yes you heard me correctly, VENTUS. We are so back. I will probably have to reread my first series (vomits profusely) and touch it up a lil (typos, clean up weird paragraphs maybe, I literally won't be able to resist myself once I get started...). It will be hard to get to where I remember everything but I'll have to just so I don't miss anything.
When I went on hiatus I said I would try to plan the sequel series I had announced. I haven't touched that at all. Technically I did more work on it this Tuesday than I have all year. Yeah... but that was because of school. I was practically breathing donuts by the end of the year.
I am not giving any hard or soft deadlines, but I am here, working away. My next announcement will be about the first book so stay tuned! >:)

So I was rereading one of Hawker's chapters, and it got me thinking. What if there was a close cousin to the dartwings but based on a damselfly. I envision them as a slimmer dragon with powerful eyesight but bodies weaker than dartwings. Also the wings cutting things instead of hitting them. Just a series of thoughts I had.

This is a follow-up kinda to that last short story I sent you a link to but based in the future at least a couple of thousands of years later. It's a series of short stories centred around the perspectives of two characters who are mates. Sorry if it rude posting these links in these message thing. I mostly put them here since you seem to have an interest in some of the concepts I write. I thought I might as well put this series of connected stories on Wattpad. This is the link if you have any interest in reading it: https://www.wattpad.com/story/400212968?utm_source=android&utm_medium=link&utm_content=story_info&wp_page=story_details_button&wp_uname=Reaperofthedusk

@Thunderclanwarrior12 I have since realised by DOD Storms you meant one of your original ventus stories. I thought it was new one you were writing.
Thunderclanwarrior12
Haha DOStorms is my shorthand for Dragon of Storms. I could say DOS but that could mean Dragon of Secrets or Storms and that's the only way to tell the difference, lol
Reaperofthedusk
@Reaperofthedusk It is ready for you whenever you wish to read it. Also this DOStorms sounds awesome.

Hello I posted a short story of those wyverns I mentioned. Just putting this link here if you want to read it. https://www.wattpad.com/story/329688969?utm_source=android&utm_medium=link&utm_content=story_info&wp_page=story_details_button&wp_uname=Reaperofthedusk

I remember you stating you wanted me to let you know if I ever wrote about those ant themed dragons. Well, I have and included a general explanation of their homeland. Here is a link if you wish to read it: https://www.wattpad.com/story/331230532?utm_source=android&utm_medium=link&utm_content=story_info&wp_page=story_details_button&wp_uname=Reaperofthedusk If it doesn't work, then on my profile is a published story called Morrow. Of course, you don't have to read it at all. I'm just giving you the option since you displayed interest before. I hope you are doing well.

@Thunderclanwarrior12 I'm glad you are excited. I'm thinking of making one for this wyvern universe as well.

Hey, remember, antwings? Imagine if that some point they encountered a member of a different type of antwing suddenly? Like in the spires, an antwing was frantically running around, and they captured it. Then it turned out this antwing was a bullet antwing, and a black worker who hunts for the colony while the red ones look after the hatchlings. Somehow, this big antwing got lost on a hunt and was desperately trying to get back. "NO, no, I'm not a major. I'm a black bullet antwing. Look at my face, no tusks, but I can do this. She splits her lower jaw, and the halves move like mandibles startling the interrogating dartwing. Wingstrike: "Oh, that's just freaky." Firebite: "Hey, that's mean. Anyway, ants do have mandibles, so in any case, tusks are the weirder thing to have." Just a funny thought I had because of how weirded out the other tribes would be.

@Thunderclanwarrior12 Perhaps they camouflage based on the ant species present in their region. Just a thought, though, they are much bigger than ants. I redo the bullet ant dragons then. I have a type of drake called sky drakes who are like Western style dragons but with insect wings. Solar drakes have dragonfly-like wings. Maybe there could be ant sky drakes resembling ant species they are near. Or might make them their own world. If you plan to do variants of antwings before the Pantalan scorching, then maybe they used to dot Pantala as interconnected colonies but, for some 6 isolated, and some left the mainland for islands off coast.
Thunderclanwarrior12
That sounds SO AWESOME. If you ever write it or draw them please let me know!!! They sound so interesting.
My current idea for variants needs to tie in closer to canon (so I don't need to explain any differences or where they went) so maybe regional colours based on camouflage would work, or size/tribe structure differences. I already know that AntWing society before the Pantalan version of the Scorching looked very different (even before the events of AAA, which will be fun to explore in the future).

@Thunderclanwarrior12 Wow, thanks. I thought about the reputation antwings had to the Northern alliance and what if they encountered antwings of a different type not affiliated with the war. How would these antwings be treated, similar or differently? I actually made bullet ant dragons inspired by the concept of the antwings. Not really done anything with them though. Might rework them someday. I placed them in a rainforest originally and lead into the aspect of a speeding bullet.

I hope you are doing well. Your stories are still some of the greatest I have ever read, even outside of wings of fire. I wonder if you will make other stories on here? If you do, I look forward to them. If not, then your current stories are enough.
Reaperofthedusk
@Thunderclanwarrior12 Well, I'm most definitely looking forward. I'd say you handled animus magic better than darkness of dragons. Brisktail and his ancestor actually didn't use the full extent of animus magic for good reason. They could have seriously messed up time whereas Darkstalker didn't use his magic properly so it wouldn't break the plot.
Thunderclanwarrior12
You're so right. It led to some fun things when sneaking around, sometimes, but I sometimes wonder if the story would have been possible without it. Probably not, but that's ok to me since the five were bound to use all the tools at their disposal. I wonder how it compares to Talons of Power and Darkness of Dragons - I only read it once and I have such foggy memories of it.
I can say that the next series won't have as much animus magic. I can't say for sure none because Brisktail made some very useful gadgets that I now have to explain why he threw them away or didn't use when things start to disappear. I have some ideas, though, so don't worry!
Reaperofthedusk
@Thunderclanwarrior12 Issues tame compared to other people I know of have. I'm sure the reread won't be that bad. My one critique of the five books would be the reliance on animus magic. I feel it's just too powerful to make a proper story with stakes when one of the main characters is one. Though, to be fair, you handled it really well. It would have been cool if the swiftscales had their own form of more limited magic connected to the sunchasers, but only Brisktail's lineage properly had it. Sorry just an idea to combat the absurd infinite of things animus magic is capable of.
