I love writing!  For the past 25 years, I have been working on it.  I had been doing mostly research in various subjects, such as science, history, and language study.  I am now at the point where I am certain I can write on most subjects, with library-shelf quality.  My goal now is to start my own publishing business: I have been reading up on the "business" part of it.

Eleven years ago, I decided to try writing fiction.  I came up with a story idea about a family of five, and have been working on developing my own style of writing.  Although I had written a few short stories, "The Master of Perception" is the most serious attempt so far.

One thing I was determined to do was to be absolutely different from any other story out there.  Love it or hate it, you'll see that this story is not your typical teen-reader: there are no wizards, vampires, zombies or aliens, just "people."

Anybody who has ever taken a Creative Writing course knows the first rule: "To be a good writer, you have to be a good reader."  That's true.  But, in my case, I don't do that by reading other people's novels.  I wish I could, but I have no time!  No, the inspiration for this (and any future) story is the non-fiction research I do.  

Among the subjects I study (or try to study; again, pressed for time) is disease pathology, especially those that cause disabilities.  Lots of people know lots of things about cancer or diabetes; but I find it interesting to read up on things like Retinitis Pigmentosa, Usher's Syndrome, Lou Gehrig's Disease, and such like.  Why?  Because these diseases have stumped the medical community for over 100 years, and I'd like to see if such mysteries can be solved.  (My mother used to love mystery novels; I prefer "real-life" mysteries.)

Unfortunately, progress has been slooooooow.  I work a full-time job, and it can be rather grueling.  (Even more so, as I get older!)  Hopefully, I can earn a living as a writer, so I can devote more time to it!
