Dude. All the work that you've been doing makes me look bad! An audience-driven contest is a pretty good idea. (Even if it's only me sending in stuff, lol.)
Anyway, I feel that it's right for me to send you in a request, since I want to test how you can stretch your writing abilities to be able to work with different plots.
Alright, my request is for you to make a science-fiction novel. I'll leave it open-minded because I'm generally curious as well as too lazy to type.
Every chapter has to begin in a sci-fi log style that follows what I wrote below, but can continue like a basic story. Take the stuff I wrote, re-type it for the begining of the first chapter, and go. I dare you.

"Time is good in Delta VII. I have so many friends that work with me. We spend countless hours a day fixing engines on the ships that arrive from the port, drafting and improving ship blueprints, and meeting with the Officers to discuss the stability of their ships. It's hard work for sure, sleep is hard to come by, but the experiences I gain and the people I meet makes the whole thing worthwhile."
