Kai's POV
"Do you come to these a lot?" I ask as we weave our way through the other shoppers.
She glances at me. "The mall?" I nod. "I used to, but my parents limited it to four times a year when I was little, and I've sort of stuck with that."
"They do not enjoy them?" I guess, but she is quick to snort.
"They're just fine with them. I'm the one with the problem." I frown, and as she meets my gaze again, Josey does the same. "I thought you knew about that when you asked for us to go shopping, but..." She narrows her eyes warily. "How do you know about my shopping addiction?"
"Your shopping- what?" I echo. I reach for my earplugs, wondering if they are faulty or if addiction simply reserved other meanings, but there is no time to figure out which it is as Josey's eyes drift to something to the left of me.
Her pupils dilate, the black almost swallowing the brown whole, before her hand latches onto mine and yanks.
I yelp, but the embarrassing sound is blessedly drowned out by the rest of the mall's noise as Josey hauls me through the crowd as fast as she can

@64_lona yeah I'm pretty sure Nikola is mixed if irc so that's why he doesn't look fully black but if you want an african love interest with a hairstyle like tippys pfp Luciel (from OMEGA) fits the bill

For your stories do you already know the ending or do you just write and see where the characters take you? Or do you know the storyline already and build the characters as you go? Or a combo of both? I LOVE all of your books, and I’m so curious about your process!
