Born to a military family, TJ Solod has lived all over the world (Panama, Germany, multiple states in the USA). Her family settled in Sanford, NC when she was 10 and that is where she graduated from High School (c/o 2002, LCHS). 

She is an alumni of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where she majored in English Literature and had a minor focus in Children's Literature and Childhood studies. She received her Bachelor's (BA) in December of 2011. She returned to UNC Charlotte for graduate school where she received her Master's degree (MAT) in Secondary English Education.

For 10 1/2 years, TJ has worked in the classroom as a teacher. 8 1/2 years in the high school level and the past two in the middle school level. She recently accepted a position with Central Piedmont Community college to teach entry level English courses.

TJ is married and has 3 children, and resides with them just outside of Charlotte.
