          It was dark and it was night. The air of Westport, Connecticut smelled of freshly cut grass and sea water. 
          
          A nine-year-old boy was running away from home, his little brother in his arms. Big blue eyes looked up at him. They mirrored his own and the boy could see that even his brother was slightly scared.
          
          They say ‘Nobody on earth can love you more than your parents.’ However, their parents had been the exact reason as to why Luke Castellan had taken his brother and ran away.
          
          His mom had gone nuts and scared him to death. He couldn’t exactly remember what made her like this, but he didn’t like it one bit. 
          
          Meanwhile his dad had never bothered to show up. If Luke were to count the times he prayed and his father actually answered, he’d be at zero.
          
          He knew that it would be dangerous out as two little demigods. He knew that it would make Liam’s life so much harder than it should be. He knew that his little brother would grow up way too fast. But he also knew that he couldn’t just leave Liam there.
          
          Thunder was rumbling and shortly after rain poured down on them.
          Liam started to cry. “Shh…”, Luke whispered, “We’re gonna be okay…” he walked into a dark alleyway. There was some protection from the rain. Luke sat down, Liam in his lap. 
          He leaned against the wall, the cold stone pressing against his back, and tightened his grip on a pocket knife.
