I love action, adventure, RolePlay. I live in modern times but like to pretend I'm in the past, in a way. I like swords, knights, dragons. Fantasy things that are cooler than back in the day. If you ask me what my favorite weapon was, I'd probably say a short sword combined with a kite shield. If you told me to pick a modern day gun instead, easy, .50 cal sniper rifle. Contradictory isn't it? Favorite medieval weapon is a sword, right in the action. But favorite gun is hanging back, shooting from a distance with little chance of injury. If you ask why, here's the answer. Automatics are cheating. There's no recovering from 50 rounds to the chest. At least if the sniper misses, you might get a chance. Unless it's a .50 cal that is. Even it it hits your leg, you might wanna say goodbye to said leg. It's never coming back. But medieval times, that was where true skill was. You tried to impale your opponent without getting stabbed. That's a benefit of a shield I suppose. But that's they way things were. You got hit, your armor could most likely take it. You got stabbed, well sorry but you failed. Get assaulted by a ton of people? If you have a shield you have a chance. That's what I like about it. But hey, that's just me. We are all different after all, aren't we?
