Speaking of discord, that’s my other issue. It is completely normal and honestly, recommended, to make a discord for your applyfic. It’s a good way to having people talk with one another, share ideas, and get announcements out. But these discords have to be readily available. If I have to go through three different people to find the discord server for your applyfic, it’s a problem. I’ve seen some where there isn’t even a notice in the book that a discord server exists, and someone else has to tell me. And worst of it, these discords are where all the information is. The updates on deadlines, information on the love interests (or well, the male ones), form help and lore drops, all of these are in this hidden mysterious discord no one knows about. And then when you go to the discord, it is the most disorganized chaotic war zone that you remember why it’s called Discord in the first place. You try and find the lore, but instead every single channel is a spam channel, there are 7 more applyfics being planned in them, 90 @‘s about nothing, and it’s just a fight of who can talk the most. Because that’s how you get accepted. It’s not who has the best form or well written lore, it’s who talks the most. It’s who can be the most active. Applyfics are now a popularity context, instead of a place for creative people to be creative.
