I'm Kirsty, currently a struggling uni student, exasperated wannabe writer, ~emotional teenager and Scottish advocate for the development of Time Travel and bringing back the word "jolly". I heartily fail at writing bios because I don't know what's important to talk about. I'm a fairly regular and unremarkable soul, but here goes!
I'm currently studying English Literature and Medieval Scottish History at university, with a side study of Celtic Civilisation. I'm interested in fairytales and folklore from both a critical, historical and social point of view!
So far my fist attempt and (so far) one NaNo win in 2012 is pretty much my crowning achievement (discounting the glorious time when I came first place in a skipping race when I was eleven). Writing is something I love doing when I'm not drinking tea. Ultimately the dream is to publish, but realistically it's to be an editor for those with more creative talent!
When it comes to reading--my second vice, with tea being my first--I am a sucker for YA fiction. I'm still a teenager (it's justified) and when you wade through all the supernatural romance novels, there are some real gems in the genre (I'm looking at you, Patrick Ness). I love medieval and fantasy type novels; that's the sort of thing I'd like to write eventually.
I'm very, very socially awkward, but I'm slowly getting better at interacting with my fellow human beings!
I aspire to be an editor later in life, so y'know, if you have anything you would like me to look over, feel free to drop me a line!
