There are some other tips I hold as important, such as not worrying about omitting some info, because hell, if you need a surprise you gotta keep it a secret, perhaps some hints slip, but if everything is in plain view there's no shock in plot twists for example
One of my favorites is putting yourself in a character's shoes, it's quite interesting because it gives you an organic view, put yourself in the situation, lay out a perspective where there's "What I want to happen" "What I would do" and "what would I do if i was the character" and work your way with these three until you get the hang of it; Don't sweat it about being quick, don't sweat it about making it long, think about keeping it as real as it can get, as it SHOULD get, or as you want it to get, but all that matters is making it believable
Also, there's the writer's block, and my tip to overcome it is just "Don't let it get to you". Really, pushing yourself to finish something feels just stressing, so think of any writing in this period as just practice or draft, I also like to watch new things to get some inspiration or get out of my comfort zone, because that if I watch something that's precisely about the thing I'm having trouble with it just puts more pressure on me, I can't say the exact same is valid for you, but it's how I do it
