@TrishaSareen Thanks ever so much for adding Songs for Tamar to your reading list.
This story takes places within the context of King David's life in the Bible. I have not contradicted anything within the Bible.
Rather I have taken liberties where the Bible is silent. So Amnon, who actually raped his half-sister Tamar, proves to be as cowardly as he is cunning. Absalom, Tamar's full brother, is uncommonly brave, brutal but surprisingly gentle to those he loves, as fiercely loyal to his friend Jesse Ben Ezra as he is disloyal to King David, his father. But more than anything, he dearly loves his sister Tamar. Tamar recovers from her trauma with the help of Jesse. Tamar's love for both her brother Absalom and Jesse, who wants to be her husband, is so strong that she has to keep a secret within her heart. To reveal what she knows may be fatal to both Absalom and Jesse.
This story is told with Biblical frankness and captures the rich imagery in the Bible.
Please enjoy it and tell me how you like it.
Thanks.
