Has anyone ever gone through a phase in their childhood where they found a universe and then completely idolized the characters. Well that is me with DoP, except as a grown ass adult. My favorite character of any franchise (except for R2 cause he carried SW) is Hiccup the dark god. Not Hiccup the dragon master.
Just wanted to know if which story you’re going to update soon. It’s been a long time and I’m just re-reading every single book you wrote.
(Not that it’s a bad thing , it helped with my grammar and got me a medal for my school’s English Essay Writing Competition.)

Thanks for reaching out. Wow, I love hearing that my stories were able to help you with your English Competition! That’s such high praise! And I’m not sure when I’m going to be able to update. We just moved to a new house and things have been crazy busy for the last 4 months. All my free time has been devoted to packing, painting, and unpacking (hence the VERY late replies and non-existence online presence the last while). Hopefully my life and mind can settle enough for me to get back to writing soon, but I’d really like to finish one of my WIP’s before I dive back into DoP. It’s definitely still coming though, as my brain is running through the plot almost daily. Lol

Triumphant, I must ask, how did you come up with your magic system? At the moment I am struggling to make my magic system for my own Fanfic feel like it both belongs and is different.
@Stardust-Fury If you wanted the root of your magic to function like an organ, or part of the body, then I would suggest looking into some biology notes to get a feel for how each different organ behaves. Its needs, functions, what happens when something goes wrong with them, etc. This would likely help you to create your own 'soul' while also making it more realistic so that your rules don't end up all over the place. For example, is the magic dispersed throughout the body, or is it centered somewhere specific instead, because that would change what weaknesses your magic users have. Can it be damaged? How?
@Stardust-Fury That sounds kind of similar to the basis of magic in the Shattered Realms series by Cinda Williams China. Reading that might give some good inspiration. (P.S. Shattered Realms is the sequel series. The original explains magic better but I can't recall what it's called.
This is a really good piece of advice. I myself have no idea what to base my magic system off at all
I have often loved the idea of both everything having an extra something like Essence and also the idea of “The Soul” being a physical thing, like an organ.
The organ itself grants access to magic because it naturally produces Essence that can then in extension allow a user to manipulate the Essence of an object to be in tune with their own Essence and well manipulate the object.

Sorry for taking so long to update them, but I've been really busy with work and courses, and by the time I get home, my brain is fried.
