          This chapter was one of my favorites to write because for a brief moment, no one is running. No one is hiding. No one is fighting.
          
          They’re simply looking forward.
          
          And sometimes hope begins there.

Author’s Note
          
          Yesterday something happened that made me see this story differently.
          
          When I went to pick up my daughter from daycare, a water main had burst outside the building. The street was flooded, emergency tape everywhere, people standing back trying to figure out what to do.
          
          My only thought was getting to her.
          
          And afterward it hit me — everything I’m building with this saga, every chapter, every character, every world… one day this might be something she reads when she’s older.
          
          So while I didn’t start this story for her, I realize now that a part of it will always belong to her.
          
          If anything ever happens to me, this world will still exist for her.
          
          And that means everything to me.

          Chapter 11 — Ash and Ember is finally here 
          
          This one feels different.
          
          Quieter.
          Softer.
          More healing than fighting.
          
          It’s the first time Rose gets to just… exist.
          No chasing. No fear. Just a fire, the earth, and people slowly becoming “hers.”
          
          Honestly?
          It might be one of my favorite chapters I’ve written so far.
          
          Also — we’re still sitting at #2 in mystical and have been for TWO WEEKS STRAIGHT 
          That’s insane.

          We’re really here.
          
          Chapter 10.
          
          Double digits.
          
          Ten whole chapters.
          
          And I don’t think it fully hit me until I pressed publish.
          
          When I first started writing Rose’s story, it was just this tiny idea in my head about a quiet, barefoot girl who listens to the earth.
          
          That’s it.
          
          No big plans.
          No expectations.
          Just me writing late at night, hoping someone might care.
          
          And now?
          
          We’re TEN chapters deep.
          
          You guys are reading. Commenting. Theorizing. Crying with me. Yelling at Kael with me. Protecting Rose with me.
          
          Like… what?? 
          
          It’s such a surreal feeling.
          
          Because a lot has changed in my life since Chapter 1.
          
          I’ve been writing between work shifts, late nights, early mornings, tired days, real life chaos… and somehow this little world kept growing anyway.
          
          And you all kept showing up.
          
          Every read.
          Every vote.
          Every “I love this.”
          Every “protect her.”
          
          It genuinely means more than I can explain.
          
          Making it to Chapter 10 feels like proof that I didn’t quit on something I love.
          
          And that’s honestly such an honor and a blessing.
