@TurquoisePhoenix1 I will admit that I haven't read your works, but I have always intended to. I try to spend what free time I get writing, so I don't get to read as much as I used to. Most of the people I follow I'm either friends with irl or have been kind readers and often left feedback on my works. I try to follow them and read and vote/comment on their works to say thank you.
If I were you I would undo the follow for a follow policy. You seem to only want followers who genuinely care about your work or you as a person (and I don't blame you at all, I'm the exact same way), and offering a follow for follow policy will only encourage people to follow you simply for a follow back. Even without a policy like that you're always going to have followers that never read or leave feedback on your works. That happens on every site. I'm at nearly 50 followers now and I get very few comments on new content.
The best way to get real, loyal followers is to just keep writing. It's not too much fun at first, and it can be hard, but over time you'll build up a loyal group who will read and leave feedback on pretty much everything. It just takes time to get there.
