My names' John LB

I'm  working out of the UK with unpublished UK children's writers and trying to develop great new stories with them. I focus on MG and YA....high concept stuff and I try to only do things that I think are screen friendly.  My background is children's Film and TV...so I feel I can add value here and help encourage writers to write BIG!

So I'm kind of an editor, a creative story partner, mentor-tormentor....for the book they are writing...all rolled into one.

We start with a 2,000 word sample and then spitball a bunch of ideas about how the story will go. My first question is usually, how do you think the story ends?  Most writers hate that ;)

If we click then off we go.  We both know we will deliver and MS....after that who knows. Yes, we're trying to make a (big) buck....but nothing is guaranteed. It's flippin' tough out there....

The Dragon Wizard is written by Anna Orridge.  It's the first book I'm sharing on Wattpad. (More to follow) I think Anna is a great writer and was wonderful to work with. I love the period atmosphere she has created here. I love our lead girl Marion, she's so awkward outspoken and always rubs people up the wrong way. She's out of synch wit her time, its not how young girls are supposed to be in 1917. But you realise her heart is good and  she just wants people to like her for who she is.  

And Dragons meets World War One - what's not to like about that?

Here's hoping people out there like where Anna takes Marion and you....back in time about 100 years to Hereford in the west of England and then deep underground!
