Girl, not my little essay already got me debating people on Substack about Black American identity lol

This is the nonfiction project I am currently working on. I've decided to post some drafts as I write them; consider the first essay here as a kind of introduction to what I am thinking about and trying to reconcile with.

I ultimately want this project to showcase our "nearnesses" in the words of Solmaz Sharif whilst also respecting our differences and be something like a show of solidarity. Two journals I'm featured in are coming out next week! Revolute 007 comes out on March 2nd and the inaugural issue of Kawandi Magazine comes out on March 3rd. I'll be posting the links here ofc. 
          
          Kawandi will have both a digital release in March and a print release at a later date. I'll keep y'all posted in case anyone would be interested in purchasing a copy.

I'm currently planning a nonfiction project! As I begin writing essays, I've been thinking about posting excerpts, outtakes, and essays which won't make it into the book here on Wattpad and on my Substack. Thoughts?
