Beat Legends Z-A, now I can give a spoiler-free review!
Battle: For a Pokémon game that has a real-time battle style, I felt like it’d be like the Pokémon Anime but a game, minus the wacky strategies in the anime. And I was right.
Mega Evolution: For the first time, I actually liked Mega Evolution! It wasn’t a permanent buff that if you lost it early, you lost access to it! By far my favorite part of Z-A, and is now my second favorite gimmick, only behind Terastalization. (Least favorite is Dynamax now)
Catching: This is a lot scarier than normal, again, it feels like it would be in the anime. However, if you don’t want to KO a Pokémon by accident, throwing too many Pokéballs can anger them, rendering Pokéballs useless until they calm down, which takes a while.
Story: Story is overall average for Pokémon.
Best Part,!Characters: The best part of this game! The characters are done so well in this game!
Worst Part: Only MAJOR complaint is the Auto-Saving, YOU CAN’T TURN IT OFF! I’m only gonna use it for when there’s a shiny that appears. (Where I’ve only found one random shiny so far) However, add on the catching situation, and it can be VERY scary.
Overall: I loved this game, easily in my top 5! As long as Pokémon keeps this level of effort up, the franchise has a bright future ahead.
