Umanath Kattel (born October 20, 1976) is a renowned Nepalese poet, author, literary critic, and educator, known for his deep connection to nature, personal introspection, and social commentary. As Campus Chief and professor at TNK Balaha Multiple Campus, Kattel has played a pivotal role in shaping young minds through his teaching and literary work.

Born in Charambi-5, Bhojpur, Nepal, Kattel's rural upbringing amidst the hills and forests profoundly influenced his writing. His parents, Hari Bishnu Kattel and Yoga Maya Kattel, encouraged his early interest in literature despite the challenges of accessing education in rural Nepal. He pursued higher studies at Tribhuvan University, where he earned his M.A. and M.Ed. in English, gaining expertise in both Nepali and Western literary traditions.

Kattel's academic career has been as distinguished as his literary one, with his role as an educator enriching his writing. He is celebrated for his poetry collections like "Echoes of the Hills" and "Silent Reflections", which explore themes of nature, existence, and spirituality. His short stories in "Voices from the Village" reflect the complexities of rural life and societal change in Nepal.
